When do you think about war? Was it during a warm hot shower? Or when you looked at the rising prices of gas? Vanity is an artwork that aims to provoke thinking about the pervasiveness of war in our daily lives. By drawing on the story of Snow White and her magic mirror, the artwork invites viewers to reflect on their own relationship with war and the ways in which it intersects with their everyday experiences.
Particularly looking at western Europe's reliance on gas and its connection to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, confronting the uncomfortable realities of war and its impact on our comfortable lives.
